Basic Beach Rules of Hilton Head

  • No glass containers allowed on beach.
  • Dogs and Animals must be on a leash - State Law.
  • No topless tanning or full nudity.
  • No fireworks or open flames.
  • No overnight sleeping or camping.
  • No private vehicles allowed on coastline.
  • No solicitation of services or goods.
Public Beach Access General public beach access is located at the Coligny Traffic Circle at the Holiday Inn Oceanfront. This area is open year' round to the public free of charge.

You will find several quick places to eat and drink, public beach showers, and beach first aid. You can also rent bicycles, beach buggies, and chairs from this area. Hotel pool use is restricted to hotel guest only, but the Tiki-Hut Beach Bar and pool grill is open for everyone.

Additional public beach access can be found at Driessden's Beach Park located on Bradley Beach Road, and Folly Field Beach located at the end of Folly Field Road. Some public parking is metered and some areas are free.

Parking codes are strictly enforced and carries a $25.00 fine for illegal parking. Keep an eye out for signs. During peak season, a beach shuttle will operate from South Forest Beach.
